Founder Partner of Powers Abogados with more than 40 years experience

Elizabeth Powers was born in New York City in 1948. She studied in Washington D.C. first coming to Spain as part of her major in Spanish Language and Literature. After finishing her B.A. in the United States she returned to Spain in 1969, and has lived in this country since then. She studied Law at the Complutense University in Madrid, receiving her degree in 1977.

She is the daughter of the well-known painter born in Chicago, Richard M. Powers, one of the most influential science fiction artists of all time, whose personal abstract-surrealist style brought him induction into the Seattle Science Fiction Hall of Fame in 2008 and the Society of Illustrators Hall of Fame in New York in 2016.

She began practicing the law in 1978 with the international law firm Baker & McKenzie, becoming local partner, and in1995 founded her own firm, Powers Abogados, continuing her specialization in handling matters of individuals and small and medium-sized companies, with the efficiency and excellence of large law firms with a close relationship with clients at reasonable fees.

Her practice covers company law and international contracts, and international civil law (real estate, estates, etc.) with particular success advising and representing the interests of foreigners in Spain. She feels especially privileged to have been entrusted by clients to solve complex and often lengthy situations, frequently difficult to explain to those not familiar with Span and its legal system.
